The story of Casas Bela Vila
We are Beatriz and Joris, a Portuguese-Dutch couple who love the natural beauty of Northern Portugal. We were living in The Netherlands when we decided to buy our first house (Casa Pedra Bela) in Terras de Bouro in Geres National Park. Soon we realized we were not the only ones who love this area of Portugal.
In 2023 we opened Casa da Vila, also in Terras de Bouro. We started renting out both houses under the name Casas Bela Vila. In 2025, Quinta Encosta do Penedo became the latest addition. The quinta is in Arcos de Valdevez and consists of 3 separate houses that can be rented individually as well as altogether.
With Casas Bela Vila we want our guests to fully enjoy the beauty of Northern Portugal, while providing them with a luxurious place to relax. Our houses have everything you will need, from hot tubs to pools and saunas.

Our nature houses in Gerês
We have several locations across the Peneda-Gerês National Park. All of them are close to some highlights of Northern Portugal like hiking trails, rivers, waterfalls and lagoons, local restaurants and much more.
- Two houses in Terras de Bouro (Casa da Vila and Casa Pedra Bela)
- Three houses in Arcos de Valdevez (Casa da Oliveira, Casa do Sobreiro and Casa do Carvalho) as part of Quinta Encosta do Penedo
- Quinta Encosta do Penedo can also be rented as a whole for larger groups, with access to the party room/saloon
- Each house has at least a private hot tub, and most also have a pool and access to the sauna

Since the start of Casas Bela Vila in 2021, we have been working with We/Manage to manage our houses. António Antunes and his brother José are always ready to help and are usually the first point of contact for questions about the properties, reservations or anything else that may come up during your stay.
Peneda-Gerês National Park
Extending across the regions of Minho and Trás-os-Montes, the park encompasses rugged mountain ranges, crystal-clear rivers, oak forests, and granite villages that preserve their ancestral character. It is a living mosaic where nature and tradition intertwine—a place of harmony between people, the landscape, and wildlife.
